Forming Technologies Inc. (FTI) the industry’s leading developer of solutions for design, simulation, planning and costing of sheet metal components, today announced the worldwide release of FormingSuite 2017.2. Aimed at all sheet metal forming and costing engineers, designers, and estimators in the Automotive, Aerospace, Consumer Product and Electronics industries, the main objective of FormingSuite 2017.2 is to introduce new leading edge technologies to stamping simulation and to provide continuous improvement and simplification to all users in a unified collaborative environment.

Windows 10 systems are now completely supported in FormingSuite 2017.2 and users are provided with a wealth of enhancements within FormingSuite. These enhancements broaden the range of processes that can be defined within the application and streamline the workflow for the end user.

To complement these enhancements, FTI’s Coupled Hybrid Inverse (CHI) solver, Finite Increment Technology (FIT) solver and Springback solver have all been optimized, leading to solutions up to 1000X faster and require less memory on large models with no change in solution.

“Our talented team of developers has done a fantastic job in implementing this new solution approach that provides dramatic speed increases while reducing system memory requirements” says Derek Peeling, VP of Engineering. “FTI has always focused on providing fast and efficient software and this update truly takes us to the next level.”

As usual, FormingSuite 2017.2 also incorporates a number of improvements and enhancements to specific FormingSuite modules, largely based on requirements and feedback from our customer base. FTI’s ProcessPlanner benefits from numerous enhancements including a simplified operation setup, more powerful reporting, a customizable press database, and many other improvements.
