Forming Technologies Releases FormingSuite 2017.1 Process Planner

Forming Technologies Inc. (FTI) the industry’s leading developer of solutions for design, simulation, planning and costing of sheet metal components, today announced the worldwide release of FormingSuite 2017.1 ProcessPlanner. Aimed at all sheet metal forming and costing engineers, designers, and estimators in the Automotive, Aerospace, Consumer Product and Electronics industries, the main objective of the latest ProcessPlanner is to provide continuous improvement and simplification to all users on our leading edge technologies for progressive die stamping simulation in a unified collaborative environment.  

FormingSuite 2017.1 provides a wealth of enhancements specifically to the ProcessPlanner module within FormingSuite. These enhancements broaden the range of processes that can be defined within the application and streamline the workflow for the end user.  

These enhancements include:  
  • New capabilities both in formability simulation and process planning focus on handling more complex situations in progressive dies  
  • Support for multiple blanking operations for transfer dies  
  • Support for dissimilar parts that were double attached within FormingSuite 
  • Enhanced images for documenting processes  
  • Enhanced logic for automated process generation 
As usual, FormingSuite 2017.1 also incorporates a number of improvements and enhancements to other FormingSuite modules, largely based on requirements and feedback from our customer base.
