Forming Technologies Inc. (FTI), the world’s leading developer of software for the design, simulation, and costing of sheet metal components, has entered into the first phase of collaboration with Chinese electric vehicle OEM Plante EV.

Further to the strategic partnership signed in June 2016, FTI and the new Chinese electric vehicle OEM Plante EV have signed an official contract in April 2017 to enter into the first phase of collaboration. The launch of the H car will be the first application of this system.

“FTI will provide software technologies to benefit Plante EV with their new material applications in vehicle body, as well as conducting industry training for Plante EV's new vehicle design team. The first phase is expected to be complete by April 2018.” states Mr. Wang, Plante EV President. “Plante EV considers FTI a long-term strategic partner for their design process from Styling to Production.”

“FTI is very excited to work with Plante EV in establishing a proven, repeatable process that will ultimately speed up their design process to deliver vehicle platforms on time and on budget” says Mike Gallagher, FTI President & CEO.

FTI’s partnership with Plante EV aims to build on their vision for ‘Green Simulation’ and their sincere commitment to sustainability, while reducing the environmental impact in the manufacturing industry. Automotive OEMs around the world and their Tier 1 suppliers are now demanding ‘Green Simulation’ to confirm the viability of their quotations for tool and die work.

Plante is a new electric vehicle OEM wholly owned by Chaowei Power Holdings Ltd, China. Chaowei Power is one of the largest battery manufacturers in Asia, publicly traded in HKG since 2010.
