Human Resources Manager

We’re looking for an experienced, energetic and progressive candidate to join our team as HR Manager. Working out of the Burlington office, you will be responsible for managing people related tasks and initiatives as well as supporting our staff world wide. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing tasks within the following areas:

  • HR Programs: You will be responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating HR programs for the company including onboarding, training sessions, policies and procedures, Health and Safety initiatives etc.
  • Employee Relations: You are adept at building rapport quickly and have experience dealing with and resolving employee issues. You are able to leverage change management skills in order to motivate change by creating an environment of mutual respect with strong and open communication.
  • Performance Management: You have experience creating and managing performance management initiatives that include but are not limited to performance evaluations, career discussions, training and development support. You will also be able to coach the Leadership Team, managers and employees on how to deal with performance issues appropriately.
  • Total Rewards Management: Analyze and administer competitive market benchmarking data to ensure alignment with organizational strategy. Includes making recommendations on total rewards direction, design and implementation.
  • Recruitment: You must have experience with full-cycle recruitment, preferably in a software, technology or professional services environment. This includes postings, phone and face to face interviews, reference checks and candidate selection. You are able to build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, professional organizations and other platforms as a means to sourcing candidates and can identify any other career or business events that may offer recruiting opportunities. Most importantly, you are able to monitor business requirements and always be prepared to fill positions in a timely manner.
  • Work Visas: Have the ability to learn and be knowledgeable on the appropriate work visas needed for Canada, the U.S. and any International country we’re working in.
  • Employment Law: You have experience and a working knowledge of local labour laws that you can reference when required.

Requirements

  • University degree in human resource management or related business degree;
  • CHRP or CHRL designation in progress or completed is an asset but not essential;
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years HR experience encompassing all the areas required for this role. Senior experience of 1 – 2 years preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to be a hands-on contributor and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience working in software, technology or professional services capacity is an asset;
  • Solid experience managing multiple projects while being able to handle and prioritize incoming issues.


Sr. Software Developer

As a Sr. Software Developer, you will have to maintain and upgrade product architecture, work closely with Product Management to solve complex problems and implement new product requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have a degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science
  • Must have experience of 8 to 10 years in object oriented programming using C++/C# in Microsoft Windows development environment (XP/7/10)
  • Experience with GUI programming using MFC, Windows Forms and WPF
  • Knowledge of Windows OS internals, .Net Framework 2.0/3.5/4.0 and Universal Windows Platform (UWP)
  • Solid understanding of Design Patterns, Algorithms, UML Modelling, and Object-Oriented design
  • User experience (UX) design skills
  • Strong debugging skills using visual studio
  • Be decisive and capable of working with minimum supervision

Applied Mathematician

As an Applied Mathematician, you will be working on developing new algorithms involving 3D geometry and FEM mesh models for general sheet metal stamping applications.

Qualifications

  • Must have an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Mathematics
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development
  • Background in computational 3D geometry (e.g. NURBS, subdivision surfaces, etc.)
  • Work experience in data structures and algorithms
  • Programming skills in C/C++, Visual C++
  • Good teamwork and English communication skills

Applied Mathematician

As an Applied Mathematician, you will work on projects involving 3D geometry manipulations.

Qualifications

  • Must have a degree in Applied Mathematics or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3 to 4 years in object oriented C++ programming
  • Solid understanding of Design Patterns, Algorithms, UML Modelling, and Object-Oriented design
  • Experience developing Windows desktop applications
  • Metal forming knowledge and finite element technology would be an asset

Director of Business Development, Germany

As Director of Business Development, you will manage and develop business plans to increase sales opportunities of company owned software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related industry discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of account management sales experience
  • Build and manage long term client relationships/partnerships with targeted accounts at the “C” level
  • The ideal candidate should be able to communicate in both German and English

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sale of proprietary software and solutions to new and existing clients in the automotive, aerospace, consumer’s products industries, through a network of VARs and on a direct level
  • Utilize sales tools to plan and document progress, as well as increase business opportunities within existing client base and new business
  • Responsible for sales market research, developing account plans, high level sales presentations utilizing ROI concepts, and maintaining existing accounts
  • Work with FTI’s other business development managers and business partners around the world to exceed revenue expectations

Stamping Die Costing Consultant

As a Stamping Die Costing Consultant, you will utilize your industry experience to provide rules, methodology and guidelines on estimating die costs for Hot Stamping, Hydroforming, Tailor Welded Blanks, Tailor Rolled Blanks, Transfer Dies and Progressive Die.

Qualifications

  • Estimating Experience with OEM or Tier I stamping company
  • Strong understanding on Processing Stampings
  • Some Experience with Global Die estimating


Software Developer

As a Software Developer, you will work on projects involving numerical simulation of metal forming processes, and pre- and post-processors for existing and new products.

Requirements

  • Must have a degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science/Mechanical Engineering/Applied Mathematics
  • 3 to 4 years in object oriented C++ programming
  • Solid understanding of Design Patterns, Algorithms, UML Modelling, and Object-Oriented design
  • Experience developing Windows desktop applications
  • Experience with GUI programming using MFC or any cross platform library (QT, JUCE)
  • Knowledge of Windows OS internals (WIN32 API and Multi-threading)
  • Hands-on knowledge of VBA or similar scripting languages

Software Product Engineer

As a Software Product Engineer, you will research requirements, develop new product specifications and manage delivery of completed software.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and prioritize product requirements from engineering dept. and clients
  • Research state of the art in the current marketplace
  • Development of software functional specifications
  • Collaborate with the development team to refine specifications and address questions/concerns
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables
  • Develop and oversee creation of supporting documentation (manuals, help system, etc)
  • Develop quality assurance criteria for testing new products and validation against specifications


Applications Engineer, Detroit Area

As an Applications Engineer you will provide pre and post sales technical support including software demonstrations, benchmarks to customers, and onsite support to major existing customers. This position will work remotely and may involve occasional travel to Japan, China and/or India. Fluency in related languages would be an asset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 – 5 years experience in stamping die design for large panels and transfer dies
  • 3 – 5 years experience in process planning and/or cost estimating for metal stamping tooling
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following CAD systems: CATIA V5, UG/NX
  • Experience with metal forming simulation software such as FTI, PamStamp, AutoForm or Dynaform
  • Strong computer skills including software installation and troubleshooting
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre and post sales technical support. Includes software demonstrations, benchmarks to customers, presentations at trade shows, conducting sample analysis for prospective clients
  • Provide onsite support to major existing customers
  • Provide feedback regarding customer requirements for future software enhancements
  • Provide software training for customers and potential users
  • Perform engineering services including die design, process planning, formability analysis and blank size estimating

Metallurgist or Advanced Stamping Materials Expert for Stamping Technical Training or Course Development – Part-time Position

This position is ideal for a retired professional.

As a Stamping Technical Training Consultant you will deliver a wide range of Stamping training classes to OEM and Tier I stamping clients. Sessions will be conducted in both the US and Ontario.

You will utilize your stamping expertise to update or modify a wide range of stamping training courses.

You will consult on a variety of stamping projects such as formability, estimating, die design, draw die development, die tryout, advanced high strength materials, aluminum panels.

Qualifications

  • Candidate should have:
    • Experience with OEM, Tier I stamping company or material supplier that produced high strength stampings
    • Strong understanding of Advanced High Strength materials used in the industry
    • Strong metallurgical background
